Saba Island Council Members Support Saba’s 416STARZ at COPA ABCS 2026

Island Council Members Saskia Matthew and Vito Charles have traveled to Aruba to show their support for Saba’s 416STARZ softball team as they compete in the regional softball tournament, COPA ABCS 2026.

The Island Council continues to advocate for stronger inter-island sporting connections, recognizing the important role sports play in youth development, discipline, meaningful engagement, and fostering a sense of togetherness within the community. The participation of the 416STARZ team highlights Saba’s continued commitment to regional representation and athletic excellence.

This year’s COPA ABCS 2026 tournament marks the 40th anniversary of the five-day competition and brings together 13 teams from across the Dutch Caribbean, including teams from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Maarten, and Saba.

The tournament will take place from Wednesday, 13, through Sunday, 17.

The 416STARZ game schedule is as follows:

* Wednesday 13 – 1:05 PM
* Thursday 14 – 10:00 AM & 11:50 AM
* Friday 15 – 5:20 PM

Council Members Matthew and Charles expressed pride in the team’s dedication, sportsmanship, and commitment as they proudly represent the island of Saba on the regional stage.
